Can you believe this sleepy, little one is 3 weeks old and 6lbs!? She is so incredibly gorgeous!

My sister’s best friend just had her second baby–an over 9lb baby boy! He was so beautiful. He was over two weeks when he came to see me, and was so alert. He didn’t sleep a very long time, but he didn’t cry much either. He just lied there and looked into my eyes the whole time as I fell deeply in love with him.  His big sister was so funny and equally as gorgeous. I had so much fun!

This was his one minute of crying time, and he even looked handsome during that minute!

Taking photos of children that have had a big camera in their face since birth can be a struggle. I set aside the entire week before birthdays for portrait attempts because I know I will only get 5 minutes each time I dress her up. I took these over 3 days–there was much tears and begging and pleading and bribes involved.

And now I have to worry about Christmas portraits! The almost-two year old is even harder to bribe!

I have been aching to do some portraits like these for awhile. There is nothing more beautiful than a mother cherishing her new baby skin to skin.

I am excited to try portraits like these with an older nursling.

One of my best friends had a baby! Again! The first time, I was there all night, but she had to have a c-section. The next time, I was supposed to support her through a VBAC; but as I got there, they were wheeling her back for a repeat cesarean. Third time’s the charm, right? She scheduled her cesarean since all doctors say no way to a VBAC at that point. And I planned to be there for photos afterwards. She ended up going into labor before the appointment and I was out of town. She called me crying with happiness, saying she had had a VBAC right there in the OR.
This fourth time, I was determined that I would see a Henderson baby born. And FINALLY it happened. I was a nasty, blubbery mess the whole time.

Even though Daddy is also a photographer, they honored me with letting me do a newborn session with Emma. What is better than hanging out with your friend and playing with a pretty, new baby?

Another sweet baby came for his close up–my first boy in a long time! We had such a great time and even went outside for some photos! Thanks for sharing T with me! He was amazing!

And isn’t his mama so beautiful? I think this was my favorite from that morning.

This little sweetie is so beautiful. But she does not like sleeping, so mama and I worked hard for a few blissful minutes of baby posing. However, when she did sleep, she was a champion poser for me! Congratulations W Family! She is just wonderful!

I skipped day 23 because was just finding and posting an old Facebook photo. I want to *TAKE* pictures.

This is a picture of Archie and I in the place that we first met–our bed. I had Delilah on the floor next to the bed two years earlier.

So, I let the project fall to the wayside. My typical m.o. I get a bit disorganized, miss a day doing something, get overwhelmed, and just let it go forever.

This project got overwhelming when I was supposed to take a photo of staying in. Well, my husband isn’t home during the pretty light. So I skipped a day. (Here is Archie and I staying in today.)
17:

Then we were supposed to go out and have a stranger snap a picture of us in auto mode. Date night? HAH! Let a stranger touch my camera? HAH! auto mode? no such thing. So, here is Delilah as Brian (see the beard?) and me out on a date.
18:

Day 19 was “when they’re gone”. This was just pure laziness. I hadn’t done 17 & 18, so I wasn’t going to skip! The horror!
When my kids are gone, we make the food actually taste good to us. With these things–and more. And then I still have to add in more chili. Because brian is a wuss.
19:

And “When they’re here” there is a lot of tantrums. I like to email with my clients, so they cannot hear the screams.
20:

My babies’ “hands.”
21:

And TODAY’s! I am all caught up!
A face. Just a PORTRAIT of my daughter. And the attempts to get a non-creepy one.

I chose the one time to try a portrait with Archie that he *didn’t* want to nurse! So here I am forcing him to sit with me for one second…(1/200 of a second). I thought I would get a beautiful nursing portrait. HA.

Oh well, he is still super cute.
